The Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University is widely recognized throughout the Southeast as a strong leader in teacher education and related programs. The College houses graduate degrees at the master’s, specialist, and doctoral levels, as well as a number of graduate certificates and teacher licensure-only programs.

The Reich College of Education is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education and the North Carolina State Board of Education.

Dual Degree Enrollment

Qualified students may pursue two master’s degree programs simultaneously. Students interested in pursuing a dual degree must meet all admission, thesis, proficiency, candidacy, comprehensive, and product of learning requirements for both programs.

The Reich College of Education’s doctoral program in Educational Leadership program has partnered with the Department of Leadership and Educational Studies to offer dual EdS / EdD degree programs.

Also within the Reich College of Education the Department of Leadership and Educational Studies offers a dual degree program in Library Science, MLS and Media, Technology and Learning Design - Instructional Technology K-12 Facilitation Concentration, MA .

The Department of Human Development and Psychological Counseling has partnered with the Hayes School of Music to offer a dual degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Music Therapy .

The Department of Leadership and Educational Studies has partnered with Walker College of Business Graduate Programs to offer a dual degree program in Higher Education and Business Administration .
