Topics include the rise of Jim Crow segregation and the resistance to it, Plessy v. Ferguson, the Niagara Movement and the NAACP, the KKK and racial violence, the anti-lynching crusade, the Legal Defense Fund, Inc., the New Deal for Black Americans, WWII and the Double V, the legal battle against educational segregation from Sweatt to Brown, massive resistance, and the post-Brown civil rights revolution.
