TEC 5628 - Solar Thermal Energy Technology (3)


When Offered: Fall, Spring
This course will focus on concepts, tools, materials, and techniques needed to convert solar energy into useful heat in a variety of applications. Specific technologies to be studied may include passive solar design, solar greenhouses, solar water heating and hydronic systems, PV-direct water heating, thermal energy storage, and concentrating solar. Economic evaluation will be included in assessments of these technologies. The course will include traditional classroom as well as design, modeling, construction and testing activities. Content mastery and applied practice at the graduate level is expected.
