ENG 5990 - Capstone in English (3)

When Offered: Fall, Spring
The Capstone in English serves as the culmination of a student’s preparation in the study of English. This project provides students with an opportunity to produce a substantial piece of writing addressing a specific concern in English and
demonstrating mastery of current methodological and theoretical approaches. For most students, the capstone will take the form of an extended literary or cultural critical analysis or pedagogical paper. This paper should demonstrate mastery of methodologies and theories students have learned in the course of their studies in the English MA program. Ideally, the research will make the student something of an expert on their chosen topic, and their capstone project will represent their contribution to the critical conversation they have entered.
Prerequisites: ENG 5000  and permission of the instructor.
