The minor will consist of a minimum of 16 semester hours in music. Remedial classes will not apply toward the minor.

Course Requirements:

MUS 1000 - Elements of Music Theory (3) (must earn a minimum “C-” (1.7))
or
MUS 1001 - Music Theory I (2) (must earn a minimum “C-” (1.7))
MUS 1003 - Contemporary Musicianship I (3) (must earn a minimum “C-” (1.7))
or
MUS 1005 - Aural Skills I (1) (must earn a minimum “C-” (1.7))
Applied Music (minimum of) 4 hours (Attainment of Level I)
Ensembles 4 hours (1 hr. per ensemble)
Electives in Music 5 hours (as approved by Dean/Assoc. Dean)
MUS 1500 - Performance Seminar (0) (two semesters)

Minimum Total 16 Hours

Recommended

Recommended to satisfy General Education requirements and may not be used as electives if applied to Gen. Ed.
