A candidate with this SAC designation understands and can speak a 2nd langugae and promotes language as a significant representation of cultural groups.


Chinese, French, German, Japanese, or Spanish

Available only to students who have placed out of CHN, FRE, GER, JPN, or SNH 1010 , SNH 1020  or SNH 1030  

General Education Requirements (44 Hours)


Nine semester hours (9 hours) of courses may be applied to satisfy General Education and / or Major requirements.

World Languages and Cultures Academic Concentration Requirements (18 Hours)


Intermediate Language (6 Hours)


  • CHN, FRE, GER, JPN, or SNH 1040 Intermediate I (3)
    and
  • CHN, FRE, GER, JPN, or SNH 1050 Intermediate II (3)
    or
  • FRE, GER, or SNH 1060 Accelerated Intermediate (6)

(Prerequisite 1020, 1030, or equivalent.) FRE on demand, GER S/on demand, SNH S

Students Should Choose One of the Following Series of Languages (6-12 Hours)


Language series elected must correspond with Intermediate Language courses taken in Section A

Electives

Chinese courses at the 2000 level or above (6)

German courses at the 2000 level or above (6)
