S D 4150 - Disaster and Development (3)

When Offered: Fall
An exploration of the relationship between disaster and development through critical social theories, economic systems and the literature on community resilience. The course will explore how disaster risks are assessed and incorporated in sustainable development programs. Pre-disaster preparedness and post-disaster reconstruction are the main components of the course.
