BIO 5222 - Communities and Ecosystem Ecology (4) When Offered: Fall A holistic consideration of the interactions among populations of different species with their biotic and abiotic environments. Topics to be covered include succession; patterns in species diversity; community productivity; biogeochemical cycling; ecosystem structure and function. Labs will involve studies of net primary production, nutrient cycling, succession, and diversity, and will include both laboratory and field work. Prerequisite: BIO 3302 (Ecology). Lecture three hours, laboratory three hours.
