R E 5100 - Teaching Beginning Readers and Writers (3)
When Offered:Fall Various approaches to teaching beginning readers and writers are introduced (K-3). There is an emphasis on teaching methods that capitalize on the language competence students bring with them to school. Word recognition, comprehension, and writing instruction are considered within the framework of a meaningful, integrated reading/language arts program.
