BIO 5720 - Gene Regulation (3) When Offered: Spring. Alternate years An exploration of the molecular principles underlying the regulation of the expression of a gene in the context of the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology. Topics include: the Central Dogma, DNA structure and packaging, general transcription, and cis and trans regulatory elements and factors. Prerequisites: BIO 3800 (Molecular Biology) with a grade of “C” or higher in each, or permission of the instructor. Lecture three hours.
