When Offered: On Demand GEN ED: Social Science Designation; Integrative Learning Experience (Theme: “AppalachianMountains: Community, Culture, and Land”) This course explores the Appalachian region from a cross-disciplinary perspective, with readings on Appalachia drawn primarily from the social sciences. Both historical and contemporary issues are examined, focusing upon national and international as well as local and regional contexts.
