When Offered: Fall; Spring The course covers principles of geographic information science and applied practice with geographic information systems (GIS). Emphasis will be on the primary functions of GIS use, map design, and spatial analysis relevant to social and environmental issues through laboratory exercises and projects. The course is comprised of both lecture and laboratory components for three hours a week. Prerequisites: GHY 2310 and GHY 2812 or permission of the instructor. Demonstrated Readiness for College-level Math.
