FIN 3030 - Personal Financial Management (3) When Offered: Fall; Spring This course provides a study of the key concepts and tools that are necessary to help students manage their personal finances and help them avoid financial difficulties as they transition from college life to their professional careers. Topics covered include budgeting, saving for financial emergencies and major purchases, investing for the future, retirement planning, selecting the appropriate investment instruments, use of insurance, and personal debt management. Other topics related to the current financial environment and their impact on personal financial management may be covered. Prerequisite: 54 earned hours and FIN 3010 or FIN 3680 .
