FCS 4553 - Leadership in Advocacy, Administration, and Collaboration (3) When Offered: Spring This course emphasizes the foundations of collaboration, leadership, and advocacy. The active learning design of the course focuses on preparing early educators to: (a) participate fully in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary early childhood regular and special education teams, (b) advocate for children and families, (c) apply culturally competent strategies in working with diverse populations, and (d) collaborate across agencies working with young children and their families. The discussions and assignments are designed to help students identify their personal communication style, leadership skills, and advocacy interests.
