HIS 3632 - Methods for Secondary History/Social Studies Education (3) When Offered: Fall; Spring Students review national, state, and program standards for 9-12 history/social studies, and research diverse ways to meet adolescent needs through social studies. Students will use national and state standards to design curriculum work in 9-12 history/social studies focused on thematic strands, historical thinking skills, and the construction of new knowledge for diverse learners in the high school classroom. They will also generate materials and resources, instructional strategies, digital tools, assessments, and professional dispositions. Students will be required to participate in a field experience at a regional high school, and create and teach lessons during the internship. Must be taken in semester immediately prior to student teaching. A minimum grade “C” (2.0) is required. Prerequisite: HIS 3626
