BIO 3313 - Global Change Ecology (4) [WID] When Offered: Spring GEN ED: Junior Writing in the Discipline (WID) This course explores the causes and consequences of anthropogenic global change with a particular emphasis on key ecological processes. We will explore global changes in biogeochemistry, climate, biodiversity, and land cover. Students will use the scientific literature and laboratory experiences to better understand global environmental datasets and their interactions. Students will develop an understanding of the ecological underpinnings of global changes, and explore consequences as well as potential mitigation strategies. Lecture three hours, laboratory three hours. Prerequisites: BIO 1802 and RC 2001 or its equivalent.
