PHY 1103 - General Physics I (4) When Offered: Fall; Spring GEN ED: (PHY 1103 and PHY 1104 ) Science Inquiry Perspective (Theme: “Physics of Our Technological World”) A study of the basic principles of physics including mechanics, thermodynamics, sound, electricity and magnetism, optics, and modern physics. Lecture three hours, laboratory two hours. NOTE: Not open to students with credit for PHY 2010 . Prerequisite: Demonstrated Readiness for College-level Math or Demonstrated Readiness for Calculus. Corequisite for PHY 1103: None with a Calculus Readiness Placement score of 12 or higher. Otherwise MAT 1020 or MAT 1025 or the equivalent is a required corequisite.
