PHY 3001 - Analytical Methods in Physics (3) When Offered: Spring This course prepares students for the mathematical rigor associated with the junior and senior level theoretical physics courses. Topics include: series, complex numbers, partial differentiation, multiple integrals, vector analysis, Fourier series and transforms, differential equations, and special functions. The course will focus on mathematics required for PHY 3010 - Classical Mechanics (3) , PHY 3020 - Electromagnetism (3) , and PHY 4640 - Quantum Mechanics (3) . Prerequisite: MAT 2130 with a grade of “C” (2.0) or higher; Corequisite: PHY 2020 .
