ANT 3200 - Zooarchaeology (3) When Offered: On Demand Trains students in the identification and analysis of animal remains (primarily bone and shell) recovered from archaeological sites. Students are provided the opportunity to learn the major bones of vertebrates and the hard anatomy of invertebrates and how to identify several species by their distinctive bones or shells. Various approaches to the quantification and analysis of archaeofaunal data are explored. Lecture two hours, laboratory two hours. Prerequisite: ANT 2221 or permission of the instructor. Demonstrated Readiness for College-level Math.
