ENG 3175 - Studies in Film Genre (3) When Offered: Fall This course examines a major genre or grouping of genres (musical, noir, screwball comedy, etc.) from the studio era to the present, and may include global contexts. It seeks to relate genres to the culture that created them, and investigates issues of semantics and syntax, industry, reception, and high/low art. Prerequisite: R C 1000
