CHE 4800 - Forensic Microscopy (4) When Offered: Spring This course covers the fundamentals of microscopy and introduces various methods and applications for forensic analysis of trace evidence, including Kohler illumination, micrometry, crystallization methods, microchemical testing, refractive index measurements, crystal optics, interference figures, fusion methods, bacterial and tissue staining, and electron microscopy. Lecture three hours, laboratory three hours. Prerequisite: CHE 2202 or permission of the instructor.
