C J 3050 - American Legal Systems (3) When Offered: Spring An overview of the development of law and law as an instrument of social control; an examination of the different types of law and the nature of each; the framework within which the American legal systems operate; an examination of the basic terminology of law and legal concepts; how to use library resources and apply legal research techniques dealing with the study of case, legislative and administrative law. This course is designed especially for students with pre-law or paralegal interests and complements the upper division substantive law courses.
