Program of Study for the Graduate Certificate in Special Education Leadership
Admission Requirements: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; complete the application to the Graduate School .
To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the criteria for admission to the Graduate School. Meeting this condition does not guarantee admission.
Location: Online
Note: This certificate does not lead to NC licensure in Special Education, but may be used toward the fulfillment of the 36-hour requirement for the MA degree in Special Education.
At the completion of this graduate certificate and after meeting other requirements noted by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI), students will be eligible to apply for the Exceptional Children’s Program Administrator licensure add-on.
Course Requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Special Education Leadership
Total Required (Minimum 12 Hours)
Required Course (3 Hours)
Special Education Track (9 Hours)
This track is for students with experience in special education or enrollment in a special education master’s.
School Administration Track (9 Hours)
This track is for students who have school administration experience or enrollment in a school administration master’s.
