African and African Diaspora Studies Minor (776)

Students must take one course (3 hours) from each of the following themes.

*Up to 12 credit hours may count in General Education and in the minor. See your advisor for information.

With Approval from The Director of The Africana Studies Minor


Additional courses with a significant African and/or African Diaspora Studies component may be offered in ANT, ARH, COM, DAN, ENG, FRE, HIS, HON, LLC, IDS, MUS, PS, REL, SD, SOC, THR, or Study Abroad. Such courses may be used as electives with approval from the Coordinator of the minor in African and  African Diaspora Studies.

Total Required (18 Hours)


A minimum of 9 hours must be “in residence,” i.e. courses taken through ASU (can include study abroad, ASU online courses, etc.).
