Foundations of American Democracy Requirement (3 Hours)

Foundations of American Democracy Requirement  

Three (3) credits of Foundations of American Democracy (FAD) are required for degree completion. Courses that meet this requirement may also be used to meet other major, minor, or General Education requirements.

General Education Requirements (41 Hours)

The science taken in Science Requirement of major fulfills part or all of the Science Inquiry. MAT 1110  fulfills the Quantitative Literacy requirement.

Major Requirements (67 Hours)

not including up to 12 hours counted in Area I (General Education), above

2.0 major GPA is required for graduation. Major GPA calculation will include all courses taken in the major discipline, plus any other courses under II. Minimum of 18 semester hours of courses taken to fulfill major requirements must be courses offered by Appalachian.

Science Requirement (8 Hours)

Complete a minimum of 8 credit hours from any of the General Education Science Inquiry course options. (Courses used to complete this requirement may also double count with the General Education curriculum.)

Taken to total 120 hours for the degree.
