THE INDIVIDUALLY DESIGNED CONCENTRATION MUST BE PLANNED WITH A SOCIOLOGY ADVISOR, USING DEPARTMENTAL GUIDELINES, BEFORE OFFICIALLY DECLARING OR CHANGING TO THIS CONCENTRATION.

General Education Requirements (44 Hours)


Some general education requirements may be double-counted in the major with departmental approval. Please see your advisor for information.

Major Requirements (60-63 Hours)


2.0 major GPA is required for graduation. Major GPA calculation will include all courses taken in the major department, plus any other courses under II. Minimum of 18 semester hours of courses taken to fulfill major requirements must be courses offered by Appalachian.

The individually designed concentration is planned by the student in consultation with and approval of an advisor. (Other currently available concentrations can be found on the appropriate checksheets.) The individually designed concentration is composed of courses primarily from disciplines other than Sociology. Students must meet prerequisites for courses chosen.
