Program of Study for Dual Degrees
Students interested in pursuing this dual degree option must meet the admission requirements of both programs. Use the Program Code links above to access each program’s specific admission requirements. To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the criteria for admission to the Graduate School for both programs. Meeting these criteria does not guarantee acceptance. Course Requirements for the Master of Arts in Mathematics and the Master of Science in Engineering Physics
Total Required (Minimum 54 Credits)
MA in Mathematics Required Courses (18 Credits)
MS in Engineering Physics Required Courses (18 Credits)
Electives (6 Credits)
6 credits of graduate electives with approval from Engineering Physics graduate program director Shared Courses (18 Credits)
Other Requirements for the Dual MA in Mathematics and MS in Engineering Physics
- Thesis: Optional requirement of the MS in Engineering Physics (as approved elective)
- Proficiency: Not Required
- Candidacy: Required for the thesis option
- Comprehensive: Required in both programs; see the program directors for information on content and timing
- Product of Learning: Not required
