Other Requirements for the Dual MS in Engineering Physics and MS in Applied Data Analytics


  • Thesis: Optional for both programs. For Engineering Physics, physics thesis hours would count as an approved elective.
  • Proficiency: Not Required for either program.
  • Candidacy: Required for the thesis option for Engineering Physics; admission to candidacy is awarded upon approval of thesis committee and prospectus. Required for Applied Data Analytics; Students must demonstrate knowledge and ability in technology, statistical methods, business case analysis and professional presentation skills through a program level final project reviewed presentation.
  • Comprehensive: Required for Engineering Physics. An oral defense of the thesis is required for the thesis option. For the non-thesis option, a written and oral comprehensive examination is required. Not required for Applied Data Analytics.
  • Product of Learning: Not required for either program.
