Foundations of American Democracy Requirement  

Three (3) credits of Foundations of American Democracy (FAD) are required for degree completion. Courses that meet this requirement may also be used to meet other major, minor, or General Education requirements.

General Education Requirements (41 Hours)

CHE 1101 /CHE 1110  & CHE 1102 /CHE 1120  fulfill the Science Inquiry. MAT 1110  fulfills the Quantitative Literacy requirement.

Major Requirements (74-78 Hours)

Not including 12 hours from General Education Requirements, above

2.0 major GPA required for graduation. Major GPA calculation includes all courses taken in the major department, plus any other courses under Major Requirements. Minimum of 18 semester hours of courses taken to fulfill major requirements must be courses offered by Appalachian.

Taken to total 120 hours for the degree

Notes

Students seeking a BS degree in Geology - Paleontology Concentration (259D) are not permitted to declare a second major or subsequent second degree in Geology - Environmental Geology Concentration (259C), Geology - Quantitative Geoscience Concentration (259E), BA degree in Geology (119A), or a BS degree in Geology (244A).
