Foundations of American Democracy Requirement
Foundations of American Democracy Requirement Three (3) credits of Foundations of American Democracy (FAD) are required for degree completion. Courses that meet this requirement may also be used to meet other major, minor, or General Education requirements. Major Requirements (78-80 Hours)
Not including 12 hours counted in General Education Requirements, above 2.0 major GPA is required for graduation. Major GPA calculation will include all courses taken in the major department, plus any other courses under Major Requirements. Minimum of 18 semester hours of courses taken to fulfill major requirements must be courses offered by Appalachian. Geology Capstone (1-3 Hours)
(Prerequisite: Senior Standing) Quantitative Geoscience Concentration (17 Hours)
Geoscience Electives - Choose (2 Hours)
Mathematics/Chemistry/Physics/Statistics (39 Hours)

Students seeking a BS degree in Geology - Quantitative Geoscience Concentration (259E) are not permitted to declare a second major or subsequent second degree in Geology - Environmental Geology Concentration (259C), Geology - Paleontology Concentration (259D), BA degree in Geology (119A), or a BS degree in Geology (244A). |
