IND 3120 - Materials and Processes II (3) When Offered: Fall; Spring This course is an advanced investigation into materials and techniques. Students are exposed to a variety of methods in a breadth of materials. Materials covered may include: plastic, wood, metal and resins. Processes covered may include: rapid prototyping, computer numerical control, thermoforming, mold-making, casting, extrusion, injection and blow molding. Topics discussed may include: design for manufacturing, snap-fit design, design for disassembly, design for reuse, and the cradle to grave vs. cradle to cradle design theory. Lecture/Lab four hours. Prerequisite: IND 2000 .
