A reading, in English, of Russian literature of the 19th century. The course concentrates on masterpieces of Pushkin, Gogol, Dostoevsky, and Tolstoy. Knowledge of Russian is not required. The class is organized as a lecture. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, reading, writing, and speaking.
