LIT 3450 - Teaching Literacy in Inclusive Intermediate Classrooms (3) When Offered: Fall; Spring This course prepares teachers to engage in culturally sustaining literacy methods with a focus on grades 3 and beyond, emphasizing practical classroom methods. Knowledge objectives of the course focus on the complex comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency needs of intermediate and adolescent students with diverse abilities, along with instructional materials and practices associated wit literacy instruction at these grade levels. (This course may be used to meet program requirements for teachers majoring in special education, general curriculum.) NOTE: A minimum grade of “C” (2.0) must be earned by Teacher Edcation majors.
