MTL 5825 - Documentary Media (3)

Students analyze a variety of non-fiction films, videos, photo stories, and other documentary media, evaluating the genre in terms of both form and content. Emphasis is placed on identifying the wide range of purposes for which non-fiction media is made and on examining the variety of creative techniques used in production. Students explore the genre through hands-on experiences producing non-fiction media in an effort to explore what happens to reality when it is shaped into a film, video, or other medium.
