R_C 5990 - Capstone in Rhetoric and Composition (3)

When Offered: Fall, Spring
The Capstone in Rhetoric and Composition serves as the culmination of a student’s preparation in the study of rhetoric and writing studies. This project provides students with an opportunity to produce a substantial piece of research addressing a specific concern in Rhetoric and Writing Studies that demonstrates mastery of current methodological and theoretical approaches. For most students, the capstone will take the form of an extended research-based project drawing on methodologies in rhetorical and cultural theory, writing studies, and/or pedagogy. Ideally, the research will demonstrate the student’s emerging expertise on their chosen topic, and their capstone project will represent their contribution to the broader critical conversation in rhetoric and writing studies.
Prerequisites: R_C 5100 , R_C 5300 , and permission of the instructor.
