VTN 3998 - Clinical Externship (1-3)

This course consists of supervised clinical experience in a workplace approved by the instructor. (Note: A minimum of 70 hours per hour of credit is required). The clinical externship is intended to provide students with the hands-on experience necessary to develop the skills needed by veterinary technicians. Students will demonstrate ability to perform skills to the clinical site supervisor, who will verify that the student has performed each skill satisfactorily.
Graded on an S/U basis.
Prerequisites: VTN 2998 (3 hours), plus VTN 3010, VTN 3020, VTN 3030, VTN 3040, VTN 3050, VTN 3070, each with a minimum grade of “C” (2.0). BIO 1201, BIO 1202, and BIO 1203 OR BIO 1801 and BIO 1802; CHE 1101, CHE 1110, CHE 1102, and CHE 1120 OR CHE 1051, CHE 1052, CHE 1053, and CHE 1054. Prerequisite or Corequisite: VTN 3080, VTN 3100. VTN prerequisite courses must be completed with a minimum grade of “C” (2.0).
