PSY 5703 - Psychoeducational Assessment for Intervention II (5)


When Offered: Spring
The second in a two-course sequence, this course extends students’ knowledge and skills in school-based assessment for intervention and focuses on cognitive assessment. Students learn the historical and theoretical foundations of intelligence and the benefits and limitations of intelligence testing in schools. Emphasis is placed on working with various student populations encompassing different backgrounds and educational needs. Students demonstrate competence in administering, scoring, and interpreting results of the most commonly used measures of cognitive abilities and summarizing the results in written psychoeducational reports. Weekly practice laboratory sessions are required.
Prerequisites: PSY 5702 .
