Professional Education (24 Hours)
A minimum grade of “C” (2.0) is required in each course.
To be admitted to teacher education (TE), students must take and satisfy testing requirements for all areas of Praxis I (Reading, Writing & Mathematics); SAT or ACT scores may be used in lieu of Praxis I provided required minimum scores are met. Praxis II Specialty Area Exam is required prior to or during Student Teaching. Electives (10-13 Hours)
To total a minimum of 122 hours
2 Hours of free elective hours outside the major discipline are required.
Total Required (122-125 Hours)
Note: PSY 1200 taken for the major may count toward General Education.
Minimum Hours Required in Program
A student must have at least a 2.70 grade-point average to be admitted to the teacher education program and must maintain a 2.70 grade-point average overall through student teaching.
