Professional Education (24 Hours)

A minimum grade of “C” (2.0) is required in each course.

To be admitted to teacher education (TE), students must take and satisfy testing requirements for all areas of Praxis I (Reading, Writing & Mathematics); SAT or ACT scores may be used in lieu of Praxis I provided required minimum scores are met. Praxis II Specialty Area Exam is required prior to or during Student Teaching. • All courses in professional education core must be completed with grades of C (2.0) or better prior to student teaching, along with other courses (including methods and reading) identified within the major to be completed prior to student teaching and/or requiring C (2.0) or better.

Minimum Hours Required in Program

A student must have at least a 2.70 grade-point average to be admitted to the teacher education program and must maintain a 2.70 grade-point average overall through student teaching.
