General Education Requirements (44 Hours)

DAN 3430  and DAN 3435  taken for the major may count in the Liberal Studies Experience. Asterisk courses may fulfill Wellness Literacy.

Language Requirements (6-12 Hours)

Completion of 6 semester hours at the *intermediate level or higher

Note: Language courses 1010 & 1020 or 1030 are prerequisites for *intermediate level courses.

Language courses 1050 or 1060 may be used in General Education Liberal Studies Experience.

Major Requirements (45 Hours)

An overall 2.5 GPA is required in the major. 18 semester hours must be completed at Appalachian.

BA RULE: Students may not count more than 46 semester hours in DAN above general education hours (54 hours maximum in DAN)

• Junior Writing in the Discipline (WID)
• Senior Capstone Experience (CAP) must be met.

Minor Required (12-25 Hours)

9 hours of a minor must be completed at Appalachian.

Free Electives (8-26 Hours)

To total a minimum of 122 hours for this major

2 hours of free electives outside the major discipline are required.
