General Education (44 Hours)

General Education Requirements  

(ARH 2030  , ARH 2130  and ECO 2030  taken for the major may count toward General Education: Liberal Studies Experience and ART 2022  may count toward Gen Ed: ILE).

Language Requirements (6-12 Hours)

Completion of 6 semester hours at the *intermediate level or higher

• Combined Intermediate Language Course

  or
• Higher level language courses

Note: Beginning language course I & II or beginning combination language course are prerequisites for *intermediate level courses.

Language courses 1050 or 1060 may be used in General Education Liberal Studies Experience.

Major Requirements (55 Hours)

A minimum grade of “C” (2.0) is required in each Art course. 18 semester hours must be completed at Appalachian State University.

BA RULE: Students must not exceed 46 SH above General Education in the discipline of ART.

• Junior Writing in the Discipline (WID) 
• Senior Capstone Experience (CAP) must be met.
