Language Requirements (6-12 Hours)

Completion of 6 semester hours at the *intermediate level or higher

Note: Beginning language course I & II or beginning combination language course are prerequisites for *intermediate level courses.

Language courses 1050 or 1060 may be used in General Education Liberal Studies Experience.

Study Abroad

LLC German majors are strongly encouraged to study abroad for at least a semester but are required to complete a minimum of 3-6 hours in a study abroad program or international internship relevant to their program of study and approved prior to departure by the advisor. This requirement may be waived by petition for those able to demonstrate a similarly significant, structured international education experience. Study abroad internship courses may be counted toward the BA Degree.

Major Requirements (37 Hours)

2.0 major GPA is required for graduation. Major GPA calculation will include all courses taken in the major department, plus any other courses under Major Requirements. Minimum of 18 semester hours of courses taken to fulfill major requirements must be courses offered by Appalachian. No more than 46 semester hours of GER courses may be counted toward the BA Degree.

Minor Required (12-21 Hours)

• Minimum of 9 semester hours of courses taken to fulfill minor requirements must be courses offered by Appalachian. Students may double count no more than six (6) hours between the minor and the major.

Electives (12-21 Hours)

Taken to total 120 hours for the degree
