General Education Requirements (44 Hours)


CHE 1101 /CHE 1110  & CHE 1102 /CHE 1120  fulfills Science Inquiry. MAT 1110  fulfills Quantitative Literacy requirement.

Major Requirements (67 Hours)


Not including 12 semester hours already counted in General Education, above

2.0 major GPA is required for graduation. Major GPA calculation will include all courses taken in the major discipline, plus any other courses under Major Requirements. Minimum of 18 semester hours of courses taken to fulfill major requirements must be courses offered by Appalachian.

Biology Core Requirements (8 Hours)


Must be completed before taking any other biology courses

Biology Electives in The Areas (15 Hours)


Biology courses in these sections must be numbered 2000 level and above. (Courses may only meet one requirement. If a course is chosen in one area, it may not be used in another. e.g. If BIO 2410  is used to fulfill the Cell/Genetics Laboratory requirement, the course may not also be used to fulfill a Cell/Subcellular or Anatomy and Physiology requirement.)”
