General Education Requirements (44 Hours)

Professional Education Requirements (24 Hours)


A minimum grade of “C” (2.0) must be earned in all Professional Education Courses by Teacher Education majors.

NOTE:


To be admitted to the Teacher Education, students must have a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA, completed 45 semester hours, completed criminal background check and successfully completed testing requirements for Reading, Writing and Math areas of the PRAXIS I CORE (or exempt based on SAT or ACT scores). Major Requirements (45 Hours)


HPE GPA requirement: 2.0 cumulative GPA required for declaration, 2.7 cumulative GPA required for admission into the teacher education program, 2.7 cumulative GPA required for retention in the teacher education program, and 2.7 cumulative and 2.0 major GPA required for graduation.

HPE grade requirements: All HPE majors must earn a minimum grade of “C” (2.0) in each required course in the major.

Second Academic Concentration (SAC) Requirements (9 Hours)


Note: SAC is 18 hours; up to 9 hours can be double counted from General Education and Major

SACs must be selected from either 1) Sport Science and Coaching or 2) Public Health. Other SACs may be taken with the approval of an advisor or the program director.
