Minor Requirements (15 Hours)

SW minor GPA requirements: A cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required for courses in the minor.

• S_W 2010 - Professional Social Work in Contemporary Society (3)
• S_W 2020 - The American Social Welfare System (3) [GenEd: SS]
• S_W 2615 - Foundations for Social Justice Practice (3)
• S_W 2630 - Human Behavior and the Social Environment (3)
• S_W 3000 - Basic Skills for the Social Work Profession (3)

Note:

The primary purpose of the Minor in Social Work is to complement a student’s major. The Minor in Social Work does not prepare the student for social work practice but introduces them to the social work perspective and the profession’s guiding mission (improving individual, family, community, and social well-being and pursuing social justice).

Students completing the Minor in Social Work DO NOT apply to the Professional Sequence and do not take Professional Sequence courses, which are limited to majors admitted to the Professional Sequence only.
