Latine/x & Latin American Studies Minor

Latine/x & Latin American Studies Electives (Choose 12 Hours)


(See note provided at the bottom of the program of study)

Choose four (4) courses from the following approved list:

Students must take courses from at least three different areas (ANT, ARH, DAN, ENG, GHY, GLS, GWS, HIS, LLC, MUS, POR, PS, REL, SNH, SOC and/or WRC).

At least one (1) course must be at the 3000 level or higher.

Notes:


  • ***A minimum overall grade point average of 2.0 is required for the courses included in the minor.
  • A minimum of 9 hours must be ‘in residence,” i.e. courses taken through ASU (can include study abroad, ASU online courses, etc.).
  • Students may double count no more than six (6) hours between their minor and their major.
  • Courses not listed above must be approved by the Coordinator of the Latine/x & Latin American Studies Minor Program. The suitability of such courses for fulfilling the requirement shall be determined by review of the syllabus. Eligible courses shall have no less than 50% of total course content covering Latin America in the semester in which it was taught.
