Program of Study for the Master of Business Administration
Basic Admission Requirements: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and a complete application to the Graduate School . Additional Admission Requirements: Personal Statement To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the criteria for admission to the Graduate School . Meeting this condition does not guarantee admission. Letters of Recommendation: Three Minimum GPA to Qualify for Regular Admission: 3.0 OR 2.5 to 2.99 cumulative GPA and exam scores in the 50th percentile Exam Scores: GRE or GMAT Standardized Exam Waiver Eligibility: The standardized exam requirement may be waived for applicants who have: - A cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher in your bachelor’s degree; OR
- An earned master’s degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher; OR
- Completed a graduate certificate with a minimum GPA of 3.3 or higher; OR
- A membership in the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society; OR
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in your bachelor’s AND 5+ years of full-time work or military experience with one recommendation letter from a direct supervisor; OR
- At least 3 semester hours of non-degree MBA coursework taken at App State with a cumulative GPA of a ‘B’ (3.0) or better
Location: Boone Campus and Online (Cybersecurity and Interdisciplinary Business concentrations only.) Accelerated Master’s Program
This program offers an Accelerated Master’s option for undergraduate students with a 3.2 or higher currently enrolled at Appalachian State University. Course Requirements for the Master of Business Administration

Note on Candidacy
Students must demonstrate knowledge and exposure to international business and culture before completion of the degree program, through approved activities such as short term study abroad, completion of a course with an international theme, international internship, practicum with an international theme, or other activities as approved by the program director. |
