Program of Study for the Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy


Basic Admission Requirements: Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and a complete application to the Graduate School .

Additional Admission Requirements: 

  • Interview
  • Questionnaire

To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the criteria for admission to the Graduate School . Meeting this condition does not guarantee admission.

Letters of Recommendation: Three. If you are a recent graduate, one reference must be a professor.

Minimum GPA to Qualify for Regular Admission: 3.0

Course Requirements for the Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy


Total Required (Minimum 51 Credits)


Required Courses (45 Credits)


Theoretical Foundations of Marital and Family Therapy (3 Credits)


Supervised Clinical Practice (9 Credits)


Electives (6 Credits)


Six (6) credits of graduate level electives, which may include thesis credits, selected in consultation with your advisor.
