This certificate leads to the North Carolina Level I Administrator License (012)

Basic Admission Requirements: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and a complete application to the Graduate School .

Additional Admission Requirements:

Personal Statement
Proof of Teaching Licensure

To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the criteria for admission to the Graduate School .

Letters of Recommendation: Two, at least one reference must be from your current school principal or immediate supervisor.

Prerequisite: At least three years of public school teaching experience in a a K-12 setting.

Theory and Philosophy (3 Credits)

LSA 5820 - Theory and Development in Educational Organizations (3)

Research and Data-Informed Decision-Making (3 Credits)

LSA 5575 - Leadership for School Improvement (3)

Application and Practice (9 Credits)

(Required internship of 9 total credits)

Select one of the following in consultation with advisor:

LSA 5900 - School Administration and Supervision Internship/Practicum (3) (3 + 3 +3 = 9) (This course is restricted to students who are not currently employed in a public school district.)
LSA 5910 - Building-Level Action Research (3) (3 + 3 + 3 = 9) (This course is restricted to students who are currently employed in a K-12 public school district.)
