PSY 4655 - Contemporary Issues in Psychology (3) [CAP] When Offered: Fall; Spring GEN ED: Capstone Experience An investigation and discussion of psychological phenomena using scientific methodology and empirical research to evaluate causal claims, evaluate research, assess validity and engage in critical thinking. A focus of the class will be the use of empirical research literature, as well as oral and written assignments to improve reasoning skills in order for students to become more critical consumers of information from both academic and popular sources. Topics will span multiple areas of psychology. Prerequisites: PSY 1200 and PSY 3100 or permission of the instructor.
